At the NAPC national GP-led Commissioning Conference on 10th May, ESyDoc Chairman Joe McGilligan took the opportunity to raise his frustrations regarding the barriers to lack of progress on GPCC in Surrey, directly with Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Lansley.
Mr Lansley offered his help should Dr McGilligan write to him. This letter has since been compiled and sent on 12th May, and a response is awaited. In his letter Dr McGilligan has invited Mr. Lansley to come and see for himself the progress that ESyDoc has made with commissioning, as well ask asking for support and advice on how ESyDoc can progress as a Pathfinder.
In a statement to the press regarding his questions to Mr Lansley, Dr McGilligan said that he was “keen to seek clarity from the top” and that far from complaining about the changes to the commissioning process he wanted to know “how we CAN, not why we can’t.”
