Following ESyDoc’s disappointment in December when it was turned down Pathfinder status, on 17th January 2011 it was formally announced that ESyDoc will be one of 89 new pathfinder GP consortia added to the 52 pathfinders revealed before Christmas.
ESyDoc will be invited to test national policy as it is being developed, and increasingly take on commissioning responsibilities, in partnership with the PCT, public health and other NHS organisations. The consortia will be part of driving forward the national GP pathfinder learning network, encouraging participation from other consortia in the SHA.
A directory of Pathfinders is being developed on the DoH website at http://healthandcare.dh.gov.uk/context/consortia/
In future the site aims to include access to resources and discussion forums for pathfinder consortiums.
