ESyDoc's first AGM will be held on Wednesday 2
October from 7.00 p.m. in the Postgraduate Medical Centre at East Surrey
Hospital. Everyone is welcome to attend - patients, public, practice staff and
members of the LLP.

The LLP is set up as a commissioning group. In line
with the PBC commissioning plan, service pilots are being run closer to
patients' homes in the community. The location of services is a decision for
the providers but if your practice is able to host a new service, please let me
know so that I can pass on the information to the providers.
Current pilots underway or under discussion are for
gynaecology, dermatology, ophthalmology, urology and ENT. I would welcome help
from colleagues to lead a review of the patient pathway in other specialties to
determine the extent to which some of that activity could be safely kept in the
community.
In October there are two events when practices can
contribute to the discussion on future developments and I would urge you to
attend both; the AGM on Thursday 2 October and the second ESyLearn event on
Wednesday 22 October.

 ESyDoc LLP is a partnership of twenty GP practices in South East Surrey covering Caterham, Horley, Reigate, Redhill and Oxted. Created in October 2007, the role of the partnership is to commission health services both in primary and secondary care for its diverse population of just over 160,000. Working with Surrey PCT, the partnership manages the area’s budget allocation of around £135m and seeks to use their local knowledge to buy services which best suit the local population and in the most cost effective way.

ESyDoc - Practice Based Commissioning for East Surrey |
|
Since 2006, the Government has been challenging practices to become involved with Practice Based Commissioning or PBC. PBC places primary care professionals including GPs, nurses and practice teams at the heart of decision making to commission services for their local population as they are in the best position to translate patient needs into redesigned services that deliver what local people want.
